Event and Meeting Code of Conduct
PFLAG Butler is proud to offer community events that foster connection, visibility, and support for LGBTQ+ individuals, families, and allies. We are committed to creating an inclusive and affirming environment where all attendees are treated with dignity, respect, and care.
All participants—including members, volunteers, exhibitors, performers, vendors, and guests—are expected to:
- Comply with all event policies, posted signage, and instructions from event staff.
- Respect event schedules and designated arrival and departure times.
- Be mindful of and respect the personal space and boundaries of others.
- Monitor personal health risks and avoid attending if experiencing symptoms of illness, especially in relation to COVID-19 or other communicable conditions.
- Assume responsibility for personal belongings. PFLAG Butler and event venues are not liable for lost or stolen items.
- Report any suspicious, unsafe, or concerning behavior to event staff immediately.
Minors must be accompanied by an adult family member or guardian.
The following conduct is prohibited at PFLAG Butler events:
- Damage to or defacement of event or venue property.
- Loitering in restricted areas or obstructing staff, volunteers, or access routes.
- Defamation, harassment, abuse, threats, fraud, or otherwise disruptive, dangerous, or objectionable behavior.
- Violations of the zero tolerance policy
- Display, distribution, or possession of pornographic materials, drug paraphernalia, or hate symbols.
- Use of loudspeakers, megaphones, or amplified sound without prior approval.
- Distribution or sale of unapproved materials, including flyers, pamphlets, merchandise, or promotional items.
- Weapons of any kind, fireworks, flammable materials, or chemical sprays.
- Distribution of alcohol without proper permits or prior permission. Public intoxication is not permitted.
- Smoking, vaping, or use of marijuana within the event area.
Participation in PFLAG Butler events is a privilege, not a right. Individuals who have been removed from an event, asked not to attend, or who are subject to organizational restrictions may not participate unless expressly permitted in writing by PFLAG Butler leadership.
All attendees are subject to this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in immediate removal from the event and temporary or permanent bans from future participation. PFLAG Butler reserves the right to remove any individual without refund or re-entry, at its sole discretion, in order to maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all.
PFLAG Butler and venue owners reserve the right to amend this Code of Conduct at any time without
Zero Tolerance Policy
PFLAG Butler is committed to maintaining an environment that is inclusive, welcoming, and free from harm. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal and possible permanent exclusion from future events.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Stalking or following
- Intimidation
- Offensive verbal comments
- Physical assault and/or battery
- Threats or coercion
- Harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of events or presentations
- Bathroom policing
- Inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome physical attention
- Sexually explicit, suggestive, or provocative behavior, signage, or materials
- Display of hate symbols
These behaviors are unacceptable in connection to, but not limited to:
- Race or ethnicity
- Color
- National origin
- Gender, gender identity, or gender presentation
- Sexual orientation
- Marital or family status
- Age
- Body size or appearance
- Disability
- Religion or belief
- Citizenship or immigration status
- Pregnancy or parental status
