General Elections Positions

Board Member Roles Open!

Thank you for your interest in supporting our growing chapter! We have opened up a new board position, as well as a need to officially vote in four existing vacancies that are currently served by interim appointees. Along with general board member administrative duties (1-4 board meetings per month with voting privileges), each role has a specialized focus.

If a role interests you, please submit an interest form below:

Volunteer Coordinator (OPEN)

The Volunteer Coordinator will help manage the process of welcoming new volunteers — including reviewing applications, completing any necessary vetting or background checks, and matching volunteers with the right opportunities. This role will work closely with the Events Chair to ensure proper staffing and engagement. In addition, this role will help launch and guide our chapter’s advocacy work, helping us speak out on local issues that matter to the LGBTQ+ community and our allies. If you’re driven by organizing, empowering others, and moving our mission forward, we encourage you to nominate yourself for this vital role.

Secretary (**Currently served by interim appointee)

The Secretary plays a vital role in keeping our chapter organized and accountable. This board member is responsible for taking meeting minutes, maintaining records, and helping ensure clear communication within the board, as well as providing direct communication with our community via our mailing list. It’s a great role for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and values structure and transparency. We currently have an interim Secretary serving in this position, and we’re looking to officially confirm the role during our upcoming election.

They also collaborate with the Events Coordinator on campaigns that grow and sustain our community through outreach and fundraising. This is an integral role for raising funds and local engagement for the chapter. We currently have an interim Membership Chair serving in this position, and we’re looking to officially confirm the role during our upcoming election.

Support Groups Coordinator (**Currently served by interim appointee)

This role focuses on fostering community care by helping to plan, launch, and support local LGBTQ+ and ally support groups. The Support Groups Chair will help guide group structure based on local needs and ensure that our volunteer support leads undergo appropriate screening, including background checks and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) clearance. The support groups are a major need in our area and we hope to launch by end of 2025. We currently have an interim Support Groups Coordinator serving in this position, and we’re looking to officially confirm the role during our upcoming election.
